Mechanical Technician (Workshop Engineer/Vehicle Technician)

Salary: A GBP 31,000 - GBP 40,000 Base + 6% Employer / 4% Employee Pension + Overtime at Time 1.5 and 2.0 + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance + Discount Benefits Scheme + Uniform

Working Hours: Monday to Friday. 40 or 45 Hour Contracts Available

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician for a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. Enjoy comprehensive on-the-job training, overtime opportunities, and career progression within a world-leading company.

The ideal candidate will have experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment. Automotive technicians/motor trade applicants are also encouraged to apply. You should demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, with knowledge of engine diagnostics and basic electrical skills.

You will be part of a skilled team, responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on a range of forklifts. Responsibilities include ordering spares and communicating progress. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 39 hours per week.

This role offers a great opportunity to grow within a professional, people-focused business, with potential progression to roles such as Team Leader, Field Engineer, and Sales Engineer.

The Mechanical Technician Role In Brief

1. Carry out PDIs, servicing, and repairs on forklifts in the workshop and on-site.

The Person Required

1. Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural machinery, cars, or similar equipment.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. IT literacy.
4. Ideally hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
