THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our client based in the Tyne & Wear area. In this role, you will undertake both planned and reactive maintenance on various machinery on site. The employer values training and development, providing opportunities for upskilling and career growth. The organization specializes in recycling waste fuels to produce alternative fuels.

THE ROLE

• Reacting to breakdowns and performing planned maintenance
• Maintaining various pump equipment, including centrifugal and air-operated diaphragm pumps
• Strip, inspect, service, and repair pumps and centrifuges
• Read and understand mechanical schematic drawings
• Assemble equipment based on schematic information
• Make and break small flanges
• Update and log tasks within the SAP maintenance system
• Coordinate with outside contractors as needed

THE PERSON

• Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Technician
• Educated to at least Level 3 apprenticeship
• Experience working with various pumps, especially centrifugal
• Experience in an industrial setting
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Open to development opportunities
