Job summary

UKNNL in Sellafield, Cumbria, is expanding its Mechanical Technical Support team at a pivotal time in the nuclear sector. This role provides engineering support to the Infrastructure Compliance Engineering group, contributing to plant, system and equipment reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical discipline; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of qualification.
• Excellent communication with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to make conservative decisions under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements.
• Self-motivated with drive and resilience.
• Ability to interface technically with Design and Capability teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop pragmatic, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that are cost-effective.
• Support maintenance activities by implementing the technical basis of maintenance (TBoM) and assist with planning for complex tasks.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are clearly briefed, understood and performed safely and on schedule.
• Adhere to safety, quality, risk and security procedures and standards.
• Ensure work delivery complies with site requirements and safety envelope.
• Assist in producing PMP documents and present at committee meetings.
• Support installation, modifications and commissioning of equipment and identify improvements.
• Create Safe Systems of Work for maintenance tasks identified by the Team Leader.
• Attend forums to stay abreast of best practice and share learnings.
