Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL) seeks a Mechanical Technical Support to deliver engineering input to the Infrastructure Compliance Engineering team. You will support maintenance planning, reliability and configuration management, contributing to safe operation of the facility.

The role requires mechanical qualification or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to work within safety and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or HND; relevant experience may substitute
• Strong communication with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Conservative decision making under pressure
• Knowledge of operational & maintenance requirements
• Demonstrable self-motivation, drive, energy and resilience
• Interface with Design and Capability teams; eligible to become Safety Supervisor
• Must become PMP Manager
• Must become Sub Contractor Supervisor
• Able to obtain SC level security clearance (5 years UK residency)

Responsibilities

• Develop pragmatic engineering solutions that meet objectives cost-effectively
• Support maintenance by implementing the TBoM process and plan complex tasks
• Ensure maintenance tasks are briefed, understood and performed safely on schedule
• Comply with safety, quality, risk and security procedures
• Ensure work complies with site requirements and safety envelope
• Produce PMP documents for Compliance Engineering and present at committee
• Assist with installations, modifications and commissioning of equipment
• Create Safe Systems of Work for maintenance tasks
• Attend forums to share and implement best practices
