Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd. in Halifax is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead a multi-skilled maintenance team in a facilities management/public sector setting. The role focuses on supervising planned and reactive mechanical maintenance while ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.

You will oversee plant inspections, provide technical guidance to engineers and support shutdowns, with a focus on efficient service delivery and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Mechanical bias with HVAC, plumbing or gas experience.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification.
• Previous Supervisor/Team Leader experience.
• Strong commercial building maintenance experience.
• Good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Public sector / PFI or critical environments experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a multi-skilled maintenance team.
• Oversee planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Ensure plant inspections, servicing and repairs are completed effectively.
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, site procedures and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical support to engineers across mechanical systems.
• Support planned shutdowns and maintenance works.
• Liaise with site management and stakeholders to minimise disruption.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Monitor materials, equipment and resources to ensure efficient service delivery.
