Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor for a permanent position in Halifax.

Qualifications

Mechanical Supervisor

Location: Halifax
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Sector: Facilities Management / Public Sector

Our client, a leading Facilities Management provider, is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support a large public sector site in Halifax.

You will supervise a multi-skilled maintenance team and service partners, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building services across the site.

This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone with a strong mechanical background who can provide technical support to engineers while overseeing day-to-day maintenance activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a multi-skilled maintenance team
• Oversee planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
• Ensure plant inspections, servicing and repairs are completed effectively
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, site procedures and contractual requirements
• Provide technical support to engineers across mechanical systems
• Support planned shutdowns and maintenance works
• Liaise with site management and other stakeholders to minimise disruption
• Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
• Support internal and external audits
• Monitor materials, equipment and resources to ensure efficient service delivery

Requirements

• Mechanical bias, including HVAC, Plumbing, Gas or similar
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification
• Previous experience within a Supervisor or Team Leader position
• Strong commercial building maintenance experience
• Good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance
• Previous Authorised Person experience, or willingness to undertake AP responsibilities
• Previous experience within public sector, PFI or critical environments would be advantageous
