Job summary

Clements Young is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead installation teams across Oxfordshire projects. The role focuses on supervising mechanical installations, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining high workmanship standards to meet the programme.

The ideal candidate will have a strong HV pipework background, plumbing or pipefitting experience, and the ability to interpret drawings while ensuring safe, efficient delivery on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Mechanical Supervisor or Mechanical Foreman on building services projects.
• Recognised mechanical trade qualification in plumbing, heating or pipefitting.
• Strong practical knowledge of commercial mechanical installations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate installation work.
• Confident, organised approach to supervising teams and resolving site issues.
• Relevant CSCS card held; SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organise daily workloads and supervise mechanical operatives and subcontractors.
• Oversee heating, plumbing, pipework, plant room and associated mechanical installations.
• Check installations against drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Monitor progress and identify labour, material or access needs.
• Coordinate work with other trades to avoid clashes and delays.
• Brief workforce on risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures.
• Carry out quality inspections, record defects and oversee snagging.
• Raise technical queries and report variations or site conditions.
• Maintain records of labour, progress, deliveries and inspections.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.

Clements Young is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Supervisor on behalf of an established Oxfordshire building services contractor.

This role would suit a mechanically qualified supervisor with a strong HV Pipework background, plumbing, heating or pipefitting experience who can lead installation teams, maintain high standards of workmanship and keep work progressing safely against the programme.

The role

You will supervise the day-to-day delivery of mechanical installations, coordinating operatives and specialist subcontractors and working closely with the site management team.

What we're looking for
