Job summary

Equans is recruiting a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee heating, HVAC, plumbing, and pipework on social housing projects in Long Bennington. You will coordinate mechanical installation works, ensure safety, and liaise with project teams to maintain schedule and quality.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent, with supervision experience and knowledge of heating systems. CSCS/Safety qualifications are desirable, and a competitive salary is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising mechanical installation works within construction or building services environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of HSEQ principles and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all mechanical installation works on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and health and safety requirements.
  • Plan and allocate work to mechanical operatives and subcontractors, monitoring progress and resolving issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Carry out quality inspections to ensure mechanical systems meet project standards and client expectations.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, and other discipline supervisors to coordinate multi-trade activities.
  • Support commissioning processes and ensure accurate documentation, including test sheets and handover records.
  • Identify and report any design or technical issues to engineering teams for resolution.
  • Ensure works follow method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and junior team members.
  • Promote a positive safety culture on site in line with HSEQ procedures.

This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week.
