Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing) to lead a skilled team at HMP Whitemoor, Cambridgeshire. The role focuses on safe operation of heating, water and building services within a high-security environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive plumbing qualifications, at least five years' experience in FM or secure settings, and strong health, safety and regulatory knowledge. The position offers a substantial salary and full-time permanent employment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years' experience, ideally within an FM environment and/ or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
• Familiar with, and ability to, work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
• A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning & project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Oversee day-to-day facilities maintenance operations at HMP Whitemoor and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support rehabilitation and safe operation of the prison environment.
