Job summary

Technical Partners Recruitment is seeking a Shift Mechanical Craft Technician for a leading heavy manufacturing organisation in South Wales. You will maintain plant equipment to high safety and reliability standards, diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and driving continuous improvements.

The role is permanent, full-time with a 2 days / 2 nights / 4 days off shift pattern, offering a competitive salary and extensive benefits. Training and development are supported.

Qualifications

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on mechanical plant equipment.
• Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Ability to supervise maintenance work safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex equipment faults to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
• Supporting manufacturing performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conducting equipment inspections and recommending improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Producing detailed maintenance reports and updating engineering records within SAP.
• Supporting training and development of colleagues where required.
• Supervising contractors and engineering personnel during maintenance activities.
• Contributing to Management of Change processes and ensuring risks are appropriately assessed.
