Job summary

Coventry University Group is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Services Manager to lead the mechanical services team and contractors across main and remote campuses. You will ensure compliance, safety, and value for money while coordinating with facilities and operations to deliver planned, reactive, and gas/HVAC works.

Travel across locations, mentoring apprentices, and audits are required. Ideal candidates will have HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, proven leadership, and hands-on ability

Qualifications

• We expect a background in managing and maintaining mechanical installations.
• HNC/NVQ Level 3 or demonstrable equivalent experience is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and ensuring safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical services team and contractors across campuses.
• Ensure statutory, planned, and reactive maintenance aligns with SLAs.
• Set up contractor provisions for compliance of mechanical systems and BMS.
• Manage workload using Planon CAFM system (training provided).
• Lead investigations, audits, and hazardous situations; mentor technicians and apprentices.
