Job summary

Veolia ES Southwark Limited is seeking a mechanically skilled engineer to perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across Veolia sites in London. You will install, repair and replace pumps, valves and pipework, diagnose faults, and respond to breakdowns keeping operations safe and efficient.

Applicants should have a mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ 3 / City & Guilds / apprenticeship) and experience in industrial maintenance.

Ready to find the right role for you?Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependant on experience) plus company vehicle and Veolia benefitsGrade: 4.3Hours: 43 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with participation in a rostered out-of-hours and emergency call-out arrangementLocation: Mobile across London (mainly South London)When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and help it become a better place for everyone.Whether you’re looking to overhaul the industry, or just do a good day’s work, we know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.What we can offer you:25 days of annual leaveRefer an Engineer to us once you’ve joined and earn £1000Access to our company pension schemeFree physiotherapy and 24/7 GP serviceDiscounts on everything from groceries to well known retailersAccess to a range of resources to support your physical, mental, and financial healthOngoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potentialWhat you'll be doing:Carry out planned, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across Veolia sites.Install, maintain, repair and replace pumps, valves, pipework and associated mechanical equipment.Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete effective repairs on mechanical plant and pumping systems.Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts, making equipment safe and restoring operation as quickly as possible.Complete pipework installations, modifications, repairs and leak rectification works, including the inspection and commissioning of completed work.Maintain accurate records, complete PPM schedules and report on outstanding work, recurring faults and improvement opportunities.What we're looking for:A recognised mechanical engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent; HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.Practical experience installing, maintaining and repairing pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical plants.Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with experience diagnosing breakdowns and identifying effective repair solutions.Experience of planned and reactive maintenance in an industrial, utilities, water, waste, process or facilities environment.Experience responding to emergency breakdowns and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, with a good understanding of safe systems of work.
