Job summary

Avolon M&E is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the mechanical delivery on a major HS2 rail package in West London, with base in North Acton.

You will manage site delivery, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, handle procurement and design coordination, and ensure safety, quality and programme milestones. Rail experience is highly desirable; this is a long-term permanent role with a competitive package.

Job description

We are working with an established M&E contractor delivering major mechanical and electrical packages across HS2 in West London.

Due to continued growth on the project, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join the team based in North Acton.

This is a permanent opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme, taking responsibility for the mechanical delivery of a complex M&E package through construction, commissioning and handover.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing mechanical packages and overall site delivery
• Coordinating Construction Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
• Managing programme, quality, health & safety and progress
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages
• Technical submissions, RFIs and design coordination
• Client and stakeholder liaison
• Overseeing testing, commissioning and handover
• Working closely with commercial, engineering and construction teams

About You

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong M&E/building services background and experience delivering major projects.

Previous rail experience is highly desirable. This does not need to be specifically Network Rail and could include HS2, Crossrail, London Underground/TfL, stations, depots or similar rail environments.

No trackside qualifications are required. Of particular interest are candidates who understand the processes, quality requirements and delivery expectations associated with major rail projects.
