Job summary

Avolon M&E in Wickford, Essex, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of mid-to-large mechanical installations across retail and commercial projects. This hybrid role includes on-site visits and responsibilities spanning planning, sequencing, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

Hours: 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Salary: £70,000 (depending on skills/experience)

Job Overview and key role responsibilities:

As the mechanical project manager, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of installations that include public health systems, ventilation systems, LTHW / CHW system and air conditioning systems typically across retail and commercial projects with project values ranging between £500,000 and £1,500,000. You will be responsible for delivering the works on time, within budget, to the highest standard and meet the following

criteria:

• Overseeing the workforce of employed, self-employed and sub-contractors.
• Working with the commercial and procurement team to ensure material and sub-contract packages are correctly procured.
• Communicating with various project stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, schedules and resources
• Problem solving.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure successful delivery of the works.

Ideal candidate

• Trade experience as a pipe fitter / plumber with ideally having developed into a PM role
• after working from the ground upwards.
• Previous experience in a project manager role
