Job summary

Apex M&E Solutions Ltd is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee mechanical building services on a major MOJ programme. The role starts at HMP Gartree in Leicestershire for about three months before relocating to HMP Erlestoke in Wiltshire.

You will coordinate with clients, consultants and subcontractors, manage the programme, quality and delivery, and ensure works meet safety standards. The contract runs for 12 months with Monday to Friday attendance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the building services sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC.
• Experience with MOJ/prison/public-sector projects advantageous.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong programme, organisational and communication skills.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Ability to work independently and manage project requirements.
• Willingness to work at both HMP Gartree and HMP Erlestoke.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to work on a major programme of works across two Ministry of Justice sites.

The successful candidate will initially be based at HMP Gartree in Leicestershire for approximately 3 months, before moving to HMP Erlestoke in Wiltshire for the remainder of the contract.

The role will involve managing mechanical building services works on site, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

Previous experience working on Ministry of Justice (MOJ) projects, prisons or other secure/public-sector environments would be highly advantageous.

This is a 12-month contract, working Monday to Friday. Candidates must be flexible regarding the change of location after approximately three months.

• Previous MOJ, prison, secure environment or other public-sector project experience would be highly advantageous.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong programme, organisational and communication skills.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Ability to work independently and manage project requirements.
• Flexible and willing to work at both HMP Gartree and HMP Erlestoke.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Relevant mechanical building services experience is essential.

Contract Details

• 12-month contract
• £350 - £400 per day plus expenses
• Initially based at HMP Gartree, Leicestershire - approximately 3 months
• Then based at HMP Erlestoke, Wiltshire - approximately 9 months
