Job summary

Core Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major 76-week prison construction project in Leicester. You will lead all mechanical works from installation through commissioning, coordinating plumbing, heating, pipework, plant rooms, and subcontractors to meet milestones.

Applicants should have a strong mechanical background with proven delivery on large-scale builds and a track record of safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of all mechanical works from installation through commissioning and handover.
• Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist installers on site.
• Oversee plumbing, heating, pipework, plant room, and related mechanical installations.
• Monitor programme progress and ensure alignment with milestones.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with the wider project team and other trades.
• Oversee project costs, variations, procurement, and resource requirements.
