Job summary

Core Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager for a major 76-week new build prison project in Leicester. You will lead the delivery of all mechanical packages on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, ideally in plumbing, heating, pipefitting or mechanical building services, with experience managing large-scale mechanical installations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on major construction or M&E projects.
• Strong mechanical building services background.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and complex installations.
• Previous large-scale project experience preferred (custodial, healthcare, commercial, industrial or public sector).
• Knowledge of sequencing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• SMSTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical works from installation through to commissioning and handover.
• Lead and coordinate mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and installers.
• Oversee plumbing, heating, pipework, plant rooms and associated systems.
• Coordinate mechanical works with the wider construction team and other trades.
• Monitor programme, quality, costs, resources and procurement.
• Review drawings, specifications and installation methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality requirements.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings with the project team and client.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.

Role Overview
