Job summary

Galliford Try’s AVRS division seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to support large water treatment projects. You will assist the mechanical supervisor and team, ensuring work meets programme, quality, and safety standards across Thames Water and Anglian Water regions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with design and compliance teams, adherence to WIMES, and mentoring junior staff. A permanent position with a 42-hour week and travel time paid.

Qualifications

• SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent required.
• CSCS or CCNSG card is required.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Appropriate trade qualifications expected.
• Ability to interpret GA drawings and P&ID diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical supervisor and fitters to meet safe, high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with AVRS design team and Compliance Manager per WIMES specs.
• Promote AVRS safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure items are installed per contract and project quality plan.
• Complete project documentation for O&M handover as per plans.
• Coach Supervisors and Mechanical Fitters; collaborate with the team.
