Job summary

Galliford Try AVRS is recruiting a Mechanical Supervisor to lead a team of mechanical fitters on site across the Thames & Anglian Water regions and the North East England region. You will supervise works, ensure installations meet contract requirements, and mentor junior staff.

This permanent role includes a 42-hour week and travel between sites, with a focus on delivering high-quality water treatment projects while upholding AVRS safety standards.

Qualifications

• SSSTS or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to manage own workload and project tasks with minimal supervision.
• Relevant trade qualification.
• Strong industrial experience.
• CSCS or CCNSG card.
• Emergency First Aid or First Aider certification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of mechanical fitters to deliver works safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
• Ensure installations comply with specifications and AVRS mechanical safety rules.
• Promote and engage with AVRS’s positive safety culture.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation and encourage best practices.
• Guarantee installations meet contract requirements and quality plans.
• Coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices.
• Collaborate effectively within a growing team.
