Job summary

Galliford Try AVRS is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support long-term water treatment projects across Thames Water and Anglian Water regions. This permanent role is based on a 42-hour week with travel time paid and a competitive salary.

You will lead mechanical fitting teams, interpret GA and P&ID drawings, ensure health and safety, drive quality and project documentation, and mentor supervisors while coordinating with the design and compliance teams to deliver on schedule.

Qualifications

• SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent.
• CSCS or CCNSG.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Appropriate trade qualification(s).
• Ability to interpret Mechanical installation drawings (GA, P&ID’s).
• Experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer or Supervisor.
• Ability to manage own workload and project tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical supervisor and a team of mechanical fitters to ensure the scope of works is safely completed to a high standard in line with the programme.
• Engage with AVRS design team and Compliance Manager to ensure works comply with WIMES and client specifications.
• Engage with AVRS’s positive safety culture.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to and promote a positive culture.
• Ensure all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the contract and the Project quality plan.
• Ensure all required project documentation is completed to the required standard ready for O&M handover in line with the Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan.
• Coach and mentor Supervisors and Mechanical Fitters.
• Collaborate effectively within a growing team.
