Job description

My client is looking for an Engineer with a passion for designing and developing projects, capable of adhering to challenging standards, and committed to adding value to customers both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate should be routine-oriented, methodical, thorough, compliant, cautious, sensitive, diplomatic, self-disciplined, amiable, and accommodating.

Role Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will initially support the FEDEX and DPD projects in the UK and assist with bids for current ANPost and PAACK opportunities. Significant customer liaison and on-site presence are required; this role cannot be performed remotely. The candidate will be supported by and support the Voice engineering teams.

Your responsibilities and activities will be:

• Serve as a Mechanical/Layout/Project Engineer with a graduate degree or HND level, possessing at least 2 years of experience in automated material handling systems such as baggage, parcel, warehouse, or conveyor systems.
• Ensure mechanical system designs comply with relevant safety standards and CDM regulations, including performing detailed risk assessments.
• Be proficient in 2D & 3D AutoCAD; knowledge of Navisworks (clash detection), Revit, and BIM is beneficial.
• Have exposure to building interfaces, services, steelwork, and mezzanines.
• Be capable of creating layouts and documentation for site installation teams.
• Possess strong equipment knowledge to develop accurate specifications.
• Be able to perform risk assessments and mitigate project uncertainties through identifying opportunities.
• Have knowledge of machinery safety standards to facilitate operation and maintenance.

Qualification and Skills

• A degree or equivalent in engineering or a related discipline.
• Good knowledge of design standards and safety requirements; familiarity with Machinery Directive is preferred.
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment (Electrical/Mechanical/Software/Safety).
• A structured individual with an open approach to design and problem-solving.
