Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Plumber for a Global Facilities Management Organisation. The role combines maintenance at a major Northampton site with mobile work across commercial and industrial locations, with regional travel required.

You will work on HVAC, pumps, boilers and plumbing, perform inspections, diagnose issues, and keep accurate records. A Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or Plumbing & Heating is required, with a proactive approach to

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and boilers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, air compressors, water chillers, plumbing, boilers).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (work orders, inspections, repairs).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Assist in procurement of parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
• Provide technical support to junior staff as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide timely resolutions.

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently hiring for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Plumber for our facilities management client's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems maintenance and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. As a Mechanical Plumber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the end-client's mechanical infrastructure.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanical plumber seeking a varied role, combining work at a major Northampton site with mobile maintenance across commercial and industrial locations. Successful candidates will be based around the Northampton area and must be comfortable with regional travel.

Package

• Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Core hours are Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
