Job summary

Protec Fire & Security Group Ltd is seeking a capable Pipefitter/Installer to join our mechanical small works team in the UK. You will install fire sprinkler pipework, fit pump rooms and valve sets, collaborate with field staff and clients, and assist with commissioning and repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ qualification or equivalent experience in fire systems installation.
• CSCS card is required for site access.
• IPAF licence for working at height on sites.
• PASMA certification for scaffolding-related access where applicable.
• Clean driving licence is essential to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Work with the small works department team management.
• Install fire sprinkler pipework to high standards.
• Read and mark up drawings for various sprinkler systems.

Job description

To provide our national client base with an excellent customer service installing pipework, pumprooms and valve sets for the mechanical small works department. You will work closely with field staff and clients. You will need the ability to commissioning and repair fire sprinkler systems. It is important to have an understanding of sprinkler standards and rulings for fire protection systems. Excellent career progression, grading system and full training provided for new systems.

Typical Responsibilities

• To work with and under instruction from the small works department team management
• Have the ability to work as a team player
• Show willing to learn new systems and procedures
• Have the capability to deal with challenges that maybe on sites and able to adopt with the right attitude to overcome the obstacles and in a correct manner
• To act as a company ambassador, you must be smart in appearance, pleasant in attitude, and capable of communicating diplomatically to strengthen customer relations
• Have experience in fitting pipework for fire systems to a high standard
• Ability to read and mark up drawings and work on different fire sprinkler systems
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.
