Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a specialist aviation maintenance team near Slough. You will strip, rebuild and pinpoint faults on aircraft ground support equipment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and repeatable workmanship.

The role operates Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm with no weekends, offering overtime opportunities, site allowances and ongoing technical training to develop real hands-on expertise in hydraulic systems and lifting

Qualifications

• A strong background in mechanical maintenance and repair, ideally in engineering or aviation.
• Confident mechanical fault finding and diagnostics.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Hydraulic maintenance experience and LOLER knowledge would be an advantage.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance preferred.
• A full UK driving licence, and the ability to pass airport pass vetting (5-year referenced work or education history).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on aircraft ground support equipment.
• Stripping, inspecting, refurbishing and rebuilding mechanical assemblies, including jacks and lifting equipment.
• Reverse engineering components and working from engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and replacing bearings, seals, bushes and linkages.
• Supporting hydraulic system maintenance where required.
• Completing accurate service reports and customer documentation.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Up to £40,000, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm, with no weekends as standard.

You’ll strip, rebuild and get to the root of mechanical faults on specialist aviation equipment where accuracy really matters.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing the job properly and wants to build real expertise.
