Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover on-site maintenance across London’s airports, diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and mechanical faults on ground support equipment. You will plan your day, own each job, and build specialist skills while travelling between sites.

The role offers a company van you can take home, a mobile phone and tablet, weekly hours 7:30am–4pm, and ongoing training to stay at the forefront of aviation ground support technology.

Qualifications

• Strong background in field service, mechanical or hydraulic maintenance and repair.
• Confident fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience working on site at customer premises.
• A full manual UK driving licence.
• Ability to pass airport pass vetting with a 5-year history and references.
• Experience with aviation ground support equipment, LOLER or an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on aircraft ground support equipment at customer sites
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults on site
• Inspecting, servicing and repairing hydraulic equipment such as aircraft jacks and tripods
• Completing accurate service reports and customer documentation on a tablet
• Making sure all work meets UK safety regulations and industry standards
• Providing a professional, high standard of customer service on site

Field Service Engineer

Up to £35,000, with a company van you can take home.

You’ll be the engineer on site across London’s airports, finding and fixing faults on specialist aviation ground support equipment.

This is a role where you plan your own day, take ownership of every job and keep building specialist hydraulic and mechanical skills.
