Job summary

Veolia UK in Tidworth is hiring for a hands-on maintenance role covering Waste and Clean water assets across the Southern Region. You will inspect, service and repair assets, participate in standby rotas and occasional travel to other sites.

The role requires a full UK driving license and the ability to obtain security clearance. The package includes up to £42,000 per year, 25 days leave, a company vehicle and access to pension, health and wellbeing schemes, plus ongoing training and development

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Experience of plant operations essential.
• NVQ or recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 2.
• Must be able to pass Security Clearance and police background screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections, services and repairs on Waste and Clean water assets in the Southern Region.
• Undertake standby cover and overtime as part of a rota (typically 1 week in 4).
• May work at other locations within the Southern Region.
• Complete test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documents.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.
• Help ensure energy efficient operation and minimise downtime and pollution risks.
• Help reduce material usage by thorough maintenance with first-time fixes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the operations teams.

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum plus Veolia benefits, depending on skills and experience

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Tidworth as your primary location, but will be required to work at other locations when required.

What you'll be doing:

• Assist with carrying out inspections, services and repairs on both Waste and Clean water assets across the Southern Region.
• Undertake standby cover and overtime as required as part of a rota, typically 1 week in 4 for which additional payment will be made.
• You may also be required to work at other locations within the Southern Region.
• Assist with completing test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documents.
• Working alongside key stakeholders and customers teams, so good communication skills are essential.
• Help to ensure energy efficient operation of assets and minimise downtime and potential pollution risks
• Help reduce raw material usage on assets by completing thorough service and maintenance tasks using first time fixes
• Look to develop and deliver innovation and opportunities to maximise efficiency within the operational teams.

What we're looking for:

• Full UK Driving License
• Experience of plant operations
• NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 2
• Must be able to pass a Security Clearance in line with the Ministry of Defence vetting as well as a Police CRB background screening assessment
