Job summary

Mars Petcare, Melton Mowbray, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to reduce downtime through effective problem solving and strong technical leadership. You’ll deliver solutions that minimize downtime, waste, quality issues and safety risks while working within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a minimum of Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline, supported by practical experience.
• Proven technical expertise within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
• Competent in risk assessment and change control processes, ensuring safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Fault find and problem solve on a broad range of equipment.
• Deliver maintenance activities effectively to ensure production availability.
• Participate in risk assessments and method statement formulations for safe undertakings.
• Identify parts for purchasing of goods and services where necessary to conclude work.
• Fix breakdowns in a timely manner during shift timeframes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document known breakdowns clearly.

• Proficient in key systems and tools, including Microsoft Excel, PI ProcessBook, and SAP Planned Maintenance.

• Competent in risk assessmentand change control processes, ensuring compliance and safe working practices.

• Experienced in leading root cause analysisand fault-finding investigations to drive sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to fault find and problem solveon a broad range of equipment in a variety of situations.

• Effective delivery of maintenance activities, to ensure smooth transition between maintenance and production availability of equipment.

• Take part in risk assessments and formulationof method statements toassistin safe undertaking of any activity.

• Identifyparts for the purchasing of goodsand services where these are necessary to conclude work.

• Fix breakdownsin a timely mannerduring their shifttimeframe

• Level one problem solvingincludingcomponentfailure analysis

• Detailed entry into Atlasof all breakdowns / known jobs.
