Job summary

Rolls-Royce is hiring a Manufacturing Services Technician (Pipefitter) for our Derby Precision Casting Facility. You will install and maintain gas, argon, steam pipework and boilers, plus perform fabrication and welding across the site.

You will work with Manufacturing Leaders and Engineers to restore equipment performance and uphold safety standards. Roles emphasize reliability, collaboration and continuous learning within a high‑volume facility.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pipefitting.
• Good understanding of pipefitting installations and maintenance operations.
• Basic IT literacy and able to read engineering drawings.
• Understanding of local and regional HSE standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations and maintenance of site gas, argon supply, steam pipework and boilers.
• Fabrication and welding work across the facility.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to ensure safe, available equipment.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Leaders and Engineers to restore equipment to standard.
• Support asset maintenance and liaise with OEM and Design engineers.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us a skilled Manufacturing Services Technician (Pipefitter) within our Precision Casting Facility in Derby. In this role you will provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineer. You will be responsible for performing installations and maintenance of site gas, argon supply, steam pipework and associated boilers. This includes process line pipework and servicing of gas furnaces and pressure vessels. The role also requires fabrication and welding work across the facility. This scope of work is not fully inclusive and other scopes of work will be required. The Precision Casting Facility is Rolls-Royce's largest domestic facility and home of the single crystal turbine blade. The PCF is a high-volume single crystal HP and IP turbine blade manufacture for a multitude of products, employing world class processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques. This could be across a plant, site or business, ensuring that all outputs are safe, available and capable for use when required.

• Utilise hand tools and test equipment to deliver customer requirements.
• Use drawings & data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards capable electrical systems
• Coordinate workload and electrical activities with customers, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, Design Engineers, Maintenance Team members and Production Operators.
• Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard.
• Consistently support asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard. Work alongside/support equipment OEM and Design engineers
