Breedon Group, a leading construction materials company, seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for Daviot Quarry & Asphalt Plant in Inverness. You will maintain, repair and improve mechanical systems, diagnose faults and implement preventative maintenance to maximise reliability and uptime.

The role requires hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within the construction materials sector, strong fault finding, and the ability to work with production teams to minimise downtime while

Qualifikationen

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within construction.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and rotating equipment.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Health & safety qualifications (NEBOSH) are advantageous.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Aufgaben

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical defects and faults.
• Replace or repair worn components such as bearings, shafts, pumps and valves.
• Carry out emergency breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance and apply predictive maintenance.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
• Assist in installation, testing and commissioning of new machinery.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and safety regulations.
• Support improvement projects and collaboration with production and electricians.
