Andrews Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a major heavy industrial production site near Shrewsbury. This hands-on role covers reactive and preventative maintenance on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings and drive systems in a quarry environment.

Day shifts focus on supporting live production; nights on planned maintenance. A strong mechanical background, 3+ years, and experience with fabrication or welding are desirable.

Competenze

• 3+ years hands-on mechanical maintenance experience
• Experience in quarrying or heavy industrial environments
• Strong mechanical fault-finding capability
• Experience with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, shafts and drive systems
• Confident responding to production breakdowns
• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training
• Fabrication experience is a significant advantage

Mansioni

• Respond to mechanical breakdowns across production equipment
• Planned and preventative maintenance
• Maintain conveyors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drive systems
• Support crushers, screens and other materials-processing equipment
• Mechanical fault-finding and defect identification
• Removing and replacing bearings, shafts, rollers and mechanical components
• Carrying out plant modifications and improvement work
• Fabrication and welding activities
• Producing or modifying bespoke components, guards, brackets and other parts
• Using workshop equipment including cutting and fabrication machinery
