Job summary

Placements24 in Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering focus to join the operations team. You will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance strategies, diagnosing failures, and leading reliability improvements across mechanical systems.

This hands-on role also involves managing spare parts, analysing performance data, and driving safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures, minimizing downtime and production impact.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and implement reliability improvements.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental policies during all maintenance activities.
