Job summary

Theo James Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in Hartlepool to join a safety-focused engineering team committed to reliability, continuous improvement and high standards of workmanship.

You will perform planned and corrective maintenance on key plant equipment, use diagnostic techniques to resolve faults, log downtime for root-cause analysis, and collaborate with production to drive improvements in machine availability, efficiency and safety across rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a production maintenance environment.
• Time served maintenance apprenticeship at minimum.
• Knowledge of maintenance techniques and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Executing reactive, corrective, and planned maintenance activities.
• Using maintenance systems to log and analyse downtime for root cause analysis.
• Collaborating with production teams to identify safety and efficiency opportunities.
• Maintaining and updating all documentation related to machinery and tasks.
• Be able to problem solve procession issues and breakdowns
• Investigate and troubleshoot upon maintenance problems and provide correct action and advice.
