Job summary

Holcim UK is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee plant equipment, including block-making machinery, and drive continuous improvement at our Croft site. You’ll work a 3-shift rotation, Monday to Friday, to maximise reliability, uphold quality standards and support engineering and production teams.

The role demands a completed mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent) with welding, fabrication and hydraulic/pneumatic fault diagnosis

Qualifications

• Completed mechanical qualification with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
• Experience in arc and gas welding, metal fabrication, and machine shop skills.
• Ability to diagnose faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain plant equipment, including block-making machinery, to deliver production targets.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and diagnose faults to minimise downtime.
• Champion continuous improvement across cost, quality and safety.
• Undertake fabrication and welding tasks to repair equipment.
• Support day-to-day factory operations and foster cross-team collaboration.
• Promote a safety-first culture in line with Zero Harm.
