Job summary

Holcim UK invites applications for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at the Cauldon Cement Manufacturing Plant in Staffordshire. The role covers fixed plant equipment such as crushers, screens and conveyors, with an emphasis on safe operation and reliability.

Join a large engineering team, lead improvement projects, and contribute to the Net Zero pledge through modern installations and safer practices. Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:00 and Friday 08:00–15:30 on site.

Qualifications

• Qualified engineer with Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in engineering.
• Experience in industrial heavy engineering environments.
• Fabrication and welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead projects across the plant to improve processes or reliability.
• Carry out repairs safely with emphasis on Health & Safety.
• Maintain fixed plant equipment such as crushers, screens and conveyors.
• Support ongoing plant investments and state‑of‑the‑art installations.

Job description

Based at our Cement Manufacturing Plant in Cauldon, Staffordshire we now have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. Onsite you'll join our existing days team covering Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:00 & Fridays 08:00-15:30.

You’ll be part of a large engineering team in a truly varied role, as this covers the Cement Manufacturing Plant & fixed plant equipment such as Crusher, Screener & Conveyors at our adjoining Quarry.

You’ll identify and lead of projects across the plant, helping to improve our processes or reliability.

With a focus on Health & Safety across our business this role is no different, you'll carry out all repairs safely and continue to maintain a hazard free environment.

This is an exciting time to join our cement plant as we invest and work towards our Net Zero pledge. With high investments into the plant, you'll have opportunities to work state of the art equipment across our new installations.

Who you are

As a qualified engineer you will have either completed your Apprenticeship or hold an NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.

This is a heavy engineering environment, so you'll have some experience working in an industrial workplace.

You’ll ideally have some fabrication and welding experience.
