Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a leading FM service provider in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance within a commercial building, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule and no on-call requirements.

The package includes a salary up to £45,000, overtime, training, and clear opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 2 Mechanical qualification is essential.
• Proven experience in commercial building maintenance.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Multi-skilled with basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Copies of relevant trade certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain mechanical plant and equipment.
• Maintain pumps, motors, seals and bearings.
• Maintain AHUs and FCUs including filters and cleaning.
• Perform water hygiene checks and temperature monitoring.
• Carry out general plumbing repairs and replacements where needed.
• Monitor BMS systems and report issues.
• Perform basic electrical tasks (lamp changes).
• Support general building fabric maintenance as required.
• Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and complete work efficiently.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and follow site procedures and safety rules.
