Job summary

Aqumen Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturing business in Mirfield, West Yorkshire to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. You will join the engineering and maintenance team to keep production machinery running at peak performance, fault-find and implement improvements.

This full-time role operates on a 3-shift rotation (every third Saturday) with a salary up to £49,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on production machinery.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Fault finding and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Supporting machinery installations, repairs and engineering improvements.
• Identifying recurring faults and implementing practical solutions to improve equipment reliability.
• Working closely with production teams to prioritise breakdowns and maintain operational efficiency.
• Completing maintenance records and providing clear handovers between shifts.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
