Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is recruiting for an additional Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support production in a manufacturing environment.

The role covers reactive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and planned maintenance, with shifts across early, late and night slots. £47,000–£49,000 per year depending on experience. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is required, with strong IT and maintenance-management experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Proficient written, numerical and verbal communication.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance to keep production running as quickly and safely as possible.
• Attend breakdowns promptly and perform high-quality repairs.
• Carry out regular machine maintenance programmes and complete related paperwork.
• Plan Preventative Maintenance aligned with the site schedule.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise impact on operations.
• Ensure all work complies with Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies.

Questech are recruiting on behalf of our client in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. who are looking to recruit an additional Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

The Person

• Worked as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician / Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Engineer
• NVQ Level 3 trained in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trustworthy, Motivated, Problem Solver
• Experienced in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills
• Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office family of products
• Experience of Maintenance Management Systems & software.

The Role

• Reactive maintenance - Reacting to breakdowns to ensure production is back running as quick and safely as possible.
• Attend breakdowns promptly and make repairs to the best quality
• Complete regular machine maintenance programmes to reduce packing downtime and complete relevant paperwork.
• Planned Preventative Maintenance: Ensure planned maintenance is carried out in line with the site schedule.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure tasks are completed with little to no impact on operations.
• Manage Health and Safety: Ensure all engineering work carried out in the value stream meets the requirements of Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies & procedures.

The shifts will be Monday to Friday: 06:00am - 14:00pm / 14:00pm - 22:00pm / 22:00pm - 06:00am

The salary will be between £47,000pa - £49,000pa (Dependant on experience)
