Job summary

Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd – Carlisle is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Carlisle factory. The role focuses on maintaining equipment to ensure safe operation, production efficiency, and quality standards.

You will work within the Maintenance Department under the direction of the Maintenance Leadership Team to improve safety, quality and overall efficiency. The successful candidate will have time-served mechanical engineering qualifications, HP/3-year experience, and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Time served mechanical engineer with relevant technical qualification.
• HNC qualification or equivalent industrial experience.
• Experience maintaining and fault finding on industrial machinery.
• Experience maintaining hydraulic systems.
• Experience maintaining pneumatic systems.
• Experience maintaining industrial drive systems (gearboxes, chains, belts).
• Machining or fabrication experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of departmental maintenance tasks: repairs, setups, preventive checks and new installations.
• Inspect, assess and act on planned work, modifications and breakdowns.
• Install and commission new machinery with plant/process engineering staff.
• Ensure adherence to policy and regulations, especially health & safety.
• Complete tasks assigned by supervisor and follow SOPs.
• Attend training and development activities as required.
