Job summary

Smethwick site is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a growing team. The role offers a £42,000 - £45,000 DOE salary, with a 37.5 hour week and rotating double day shifts from 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm.

Responsibilities include maintaining site equipment, fault finding, installation, and driving continuous improvement; 80/20 mechanical focus with some electrical tasks welcome. Strong stability and growth prospects on a reputable manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years industrial experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer.
• Qualified or proven experience in hydraulics/pneumatics and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of equipment across the site; fault finding, diagnosing and rectifying issues.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and installation of machinery and services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and document tasks in the CMMS.
• Repair and maintenance of hydraulics/pneumatics systems, presses, rolling mills, guillotines and CNC machines.

Maintenance Engineer

Smethwick

£42,000 - £45,000 DOE

Double Days Shifts, 37.5 hour working week, rotating shifts of 6am - 2pm to 2pm - 10pm.

We are looking for a Mech bias maintenance engineer to join our team of 6 engineers at our growing site in Smethwick.We have an established customer base, exporting goods all around the world. This is a really good opportunityto join a growing business with brilliant stability.

Our site has continually expanded year after year, and we have now incorporated another factory into our industry. With a turnover of £80 million last year, we are looking for another maintenance engineer to help support our growth.

The work done will be 80/20 mech based, if you have some electrical knowledge. i.e. isolate safely, change a sensor and have some formal of electrical qualifcaiton that would be great, but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities as a mechanical maintenance engineer:

• Maintenance of equipment throughout the manufacturing site, with the ability
• required to fault find, diagnose, and rectify problems.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks
• Installation of machinery and services.
• Involvement in continuous improvement projects.
• Entry of completed task details onto PC based maintenance system.
• Day to day you'll be repairing and maintaining hydraulics/pneumatics systems, presses, rolling mills, guillotines and CNC machines.

Experience Required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:

• Minimum of 3 years industrial experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer.
• would look at an engineer with no qualifications if you demonstrate proven experience - ideally be level 2/3
• Good understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics systems, gearboxes, pulleys, straps, belts, chains etc
