Job summary

Recruit4Staff is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a leading food production site in Smethwick. The role offers a permanent, days-based schedule with no shift work and a competitive salary up to £40,000 per year.

You will support on-site maintenance, assist with inspections, and help reduce downtime by servicing equipment and carrying out preventative maintenance. 20 days holiday plus bank holidays are included.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills and practical maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with steam generators, compressed air and electricals is preferred.
• Maintenance background in a similar environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site maintenance as directed and support planned inspections.
• Assist with repairs to on-site equipment to minimise downtime.
• Undertake weekly strip and clean-down of production equipment.
• Support planned preventative maintenance activities and liaise with Production.
• Perform additional duties as required to maintain production uptime.

What we are offering

• Competitive salary paying up to £40,000 per annum
• The company operate between 6am-7pm and you will be working a flexible 8 hour shift Monday to Friday depending on business needs
• Permanent position
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays
• Days only, no shift work involved

The Role of the Maintenance Engineer

• Support and carry out any maintenance duties on site as directed
• To support site planned maintenance inspections
• To support all reasonable repairs on site equipment
• Support any equipment breakdown needs in to reduce production down time
• Carry out any other duties as and when required
• Responsible for weekly strip and clean-down of production equipment
• Planned preventative maintenance
• Liaising with the Production team

What our client is looking for in a Maintenance Engineer

• Must be able to demonstrate strong Mechanical based skills / knowledge
• Ideally coming from a Food Production background - Highly advantageous
• Proven experience of working with Steam Generators, Compressed Air and Electrics
• Proven experience within a Maintenance role
• Ideally hold mechanical related qualifications
