Job summary

JLL in Reading, UK is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps and motors. You will execute planned preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency, respond to faults and emergencies, and document work orders and equipment data.

You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues promptly while upholding health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role in facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults and perform planned preventive maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving and under-pressure performance.
• Strong communication with clients and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Plumbing experience is desirable.

• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, and conducting planned preventative maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work swiftly under pressure to resolve issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
• Previous plumbing experience desirable.
