Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Grantham. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving plant machinery used in recycling operations, focusing on reactive and preventive maintenance. This role offers hands-on work in a production environment.

The position involves a 12-hour shift pattern (06:00-18:00, 4 days on, 4 days off) with flexibility for other shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
• Overhaul and improve existing machinery.
• Conduct mechanical work with some electrical tasks.
• Replace bearings, inspect compressors, maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and perform welding tasks.
• Identify and suggest continuous improvement opportunities.
• Complete documentation accurately.
• Perform basic facility and site maintenance.
• Work effectively in a team and be flexible in tasks.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Level 3 Mechanical qualification or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, or plant machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment, ideally in recycling.
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude with adaptability to shifts and tasks.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
