Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join as a Field Service Engineer covering Devon and Cornwall. You will travel to customer sites, install, maintain and repair machinery within manufacturing and food manufacturing environments.

The role offers a Monday–Friday, full-time schedule with a company van provided and a salary of up to £50,000, plus opportunities to develop in a varied field-based role across food production machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Engineer / Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Experience working with machinery in manufacturing, production or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience with machinery installation and maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Devon & Cornwall.
• Own tools required.

Responsibilities

• Installing and commissioning machinery and equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Planned and reactive maintenance.
• Servicing and maintaining manufacturing machinery.

We are looking for an experienced MaintenanceEngineer / Mechanical Fitter to join our team as a Field Service Engineer, covering Devon and Cornwall.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working on the road and has experience installing, maintaining and repairing machinery within manufacturing and food manufacturing environments.

The Role

You will travel to customer sites across Devon and Cornwall, including food factories and manufacturing facilities, carrying out a range of mechanical engineering duties, including:

• Installing and commissioning machinery and equipment
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Servicing and maintaining manufacturing machinery
• Working within food manufacturing environments
• Working directly with customers on site
• Ensuring machinery is operating safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Field Service Engineer or similar
• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing, production or food manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Experience with machinery installation and maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Own tools required
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel throughout Devon and Cornwall
• Level 2 Food Safety/Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to complete the training provided
