Job summary

CV Technical is seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical for a busy FMCG/food manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on hands-on mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and keeping production equipment running efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a minimum NVQ Level 3, a strong mechanical bias (70/30 mechanical/electrical) and proven experience with conveyors, gearboxes, belts and associated systems, with clear progression opportunities within a six-engineer team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 minimum in a relevant discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience with a 70/30 mechanical/electrical bias.
• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, belts and sprockets; welding/fabrication would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and site equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, generators, belts and related systems.
• Fault-finding and repair of mechanical faults; welding and fabrication as needed.
• Support smooth running of production equipment and drive uptime improvements.

Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical

Salary: £42,000+ | £3,000 call-out allowance | Days | Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a growing FMCG/food manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically focused engineer who enjoys hands-on maintenance, fault-finding and keeping production equipment running efficiently.

With a minimum 70/30 mechanical bias, you'll play a key role within a team of six engineers, with excellent opportunities for training, development and progression into more senior positions.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a range of production and site equipment, including:

• Conveyors and associated systems
• Generators
• Gearboxes
• Sprockets, chains and belts
• Mechanical fault-finding and repairs
• Welding and fabrication - highly desirable
• Preventative and reactive maintenance
• Supporting the smooth running of production equipment

About You

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience
• A minimum 70/30 mechanical/electrical skillset
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar production environment
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, belts, chains and sprockets
• Welding and fabrication skills would be an advantage
• A proactive approach and strong commitment to engineering standards
