Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer to cover Devon and Cornwall, travelling to food factories and manufacturing facilities.

You will install, commission and diagnose faults on machinery, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and work directly with customers on site to ensure safe, efficient operation. Level 2 Food Safety training is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Engineer/Field Service Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience with machinery in manufacturing or food manufacturing environments.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Devon & Cornwall.
• Level 2 Food Safety or willingness to complete training provided.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission machinery and equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on site and in the workshop.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Service and maintain machinery in food manufacturing facilities.
• Work directly with customers on site and ensure safe, efficient operation.

Mechanical Field Service Engineer

Salary: Up to £50,000 per year
Monday to Friday | Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join our team as a Field Service Engineer, covering Devon and Cornwall.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working on the road and has experience installing, maintaining and repairing machinery within manufacturing and food manufacturing environments.

The Role

You will travel to customer sites across Devon and Cornwall, including food factories and manufacturing facilities, carrying out a range of mechanical engineering duties, including:

• Installing and commissioning machinery and equipment
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Servicing and maintaining manufacturing machinery
• Working within food manufacturing environments
• Working directly with customers on site
• Ensuring machinery is operating safely and efficiently

Food Safety Requirement

As the role involves working inside food manufacturing facilities, candidates will need to hold a Level 2 Food Safety / Food Hygiene Certificate.

Don't have one? No problem — full training will be provided. The course is approximately 3 hours and will be provided to ensure you are fully qualified to work safely within food production environments.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Field Service Engineer or similar
• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing, production or food manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Experience with machinery installation and maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Own tools required
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel throughout Devon and Cornwall
• Level 2 Food Safety/Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to complete the training provided
