Job summary

Senior Bird Bellows in Congleton, Cheshire, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will work on production machinery, perform planned maintenance, and support improvements to keep operations safe and efficient.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years' maintenance experience, a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship, good fault-finding and teamwork skills, and a proactive approach to developing their career.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and site facilities.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and assisting with fault finding and repairs.

• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise performance.
• Maintaining maintenance records and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
• Supporting continuous improvement activities and helping identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
• Following all health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

This role would be ideal for someone with minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience who is looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility within a supportive engineering environment. Perhaps you're currently working as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Technician or Engineering Technician and are ready for the next challenge.

You’ll be working in a team of engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of machinery and equipment while helping to keep our production operation running safely, reliably and efficiently.
