Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a friendly maintenance team within a manufacturing environment in Aldershot, Hampshire. You will maintain a wide range of machinery and support the build of bespoke welding machines and site improvement projects.

The role offers weekly pay, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, a 5% company pension contribution and free parking, with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining manufacturing or engineering equipment.
• Experience with manual or CNC lathes, mills or grinders.
• Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to participate in site improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a wide range of machinery including lathes, mills, grinders, furnaces, and wire-making lines.
• Support the assembly of bespoke welding machines.
• Assist in managing the site maintenance schedule to minimise downtime.
• Identify improvements to machinery and processes.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams.

Job Description

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
• Maintaining a range of machinery including lathes, mills, grinders, furnaces and wire-making lines
• Supporting the mechanical assembly of bespoke welding machines
• Helping manage the site maintenance schedule to reduce downtime
• Identifying improvements to machinery and processes
• Working closely with the maintenance and production teams

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing or engineering
• Experience maintaining manual or CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders)
• Experience with production machinery or furnaces would be beneficial
• A hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills and willingness to get involved
• Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
