Qualifications

• Degree or HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or extensive experience.
• Positive leadership and team engagement style to support growth.
• Familiarity with condition monitoring and rotating equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to read technical reports.
• Working knowledge of safety systems and compliance in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for mechanical breakdowns and prioritise resources.
• Line manage tradespeople and apprentices, including appraisals and recruitment.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and training needs assessment.
• Oversee external engineering resources to deliver site value.
• Input into preventative maintenance to maximise asset reliability.
• Champion and develop condition monitoring for critical assets.
• Deliver maintenance activities within budgets and report variances.
• Plan and prepare maintenance during scheduled plant shutdowns.
• Promote Altana values across the site.
