Job summary

Advantage Resourcing UK Ltd in Bolton seeks a Goods Inwards Inspector for an initial 12-month contract to ensure incoming parts meet contractual and quality requirements.

You will read complex drawings, check tolerances, inspect PCBs and machined components, raise defect reports and complete quality paperwork.

Applicants should have an NVQ3 or equivalent (TR23/TR21/HNC) and SAP literacy is a plus.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in technical engineering/craft (NVQ 3, TR23, TR21 or HNC) or equivalent.
• Experience reading and understanding technical/assembly drawings and tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and meeting tight inspection timelines.

Responsibilities

• Verify and accept procured products against contractual conditions and perform first-off inspections.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, check tolerances, machined features, and surface finishes.
• Inspect components including PCBs to ensure workmanship standards.
• Identify non-conforming items, segregate defective stock and maintain defect reports.
• Complete QC paperwork and maintain the verification approval process through audits.

Goods Inwards Inspector

Experience specifically required

• Must have goods in inspection experience.
• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC. Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certificate.
• SAP literate is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and accept procured products against contractual conditions, including undertaking first-off inspections.
• Read and interpret complex assembly drawings, checking dimensional tolerances, machined features, and surface finishes (detecting faults in painting, plating, or deterioration).
• Inspect components, including PCBs, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship.
• Identify non-conforming items, segregate defective products from good stock, and raise/maintain accurate defect reports.
• Complete all quality control paperwork associated with deliveries and maintain the product verification approval process through regular audits.
