Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd invites applications for a Mechanical Inspector (Night Shift) based in Bolton. This 12 month contract offers a day-to-day role inspecting and certifying components for a Defence/Aerospace partner, with oversight of assembly quality and documentation.

You will work on product certification, with IPC 610 familiarity preferred, and carry out audits, data records, and non-conformity control during the night shift. Salary is £29.02 per hour plus a 33% night uplift.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC in mechanical/engineering.
• Experience as a skilled inspector requiring attention to detail.
• IPC 610 certification or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure.
• Examine for correct assembly.
• Examine finish of all parts for defects in finishing or painting.
• Inspect for physical damage.
• Intermediate inspection checks non-product certification.
• Monitor product certification operators.
• Check and complete all paperwork for the manufacturing data pack.
• Control defect items via segregation from good product.
• Raise and maintain defect reports/data records.
• Produce inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets.
• Care for and use specialised inspection tools.
• Maintain product certification via audits.
• Ensure compliance with procedures in manufacturing process.
• Ensure inspection times are met.

You will be involved in:

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure
• Examining for correct assembly
• Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
• Inspect for physical damage
• Intermediate inspection checks non-product certification
• Monitor product certification operators
• Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack
• Control defect items via segregation from good product
• Raise and maintain relevant data records/defect reports
• Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets
• Care for and use specialised inspection tools
• Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
• Ensure inspection times are met

Your skillset & experience:

• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC
• Experience as a skilled person
• Experience inspecting the work of other people
• IPC 610 certified/trained is ideal
